A Thankful Prayer

Everything speaks to me of God
I see his smile on the earth we trod
I feel his goodness in the air
And breath with his gift
This thankful prayer
Thanks that you
Have gave to me
The knowledge to know
to learn of thee
That I am thine
Dear God above
Thine to punish
Thine to love

All the blessings
That I here enjoy
With all the troubles
That do annoy
Makes me the closer
To thee cling
And to thee my joy
And sorrow bring

I thank thee for the birds and bees

The growing vines
The blossoming trees
That comes to us
In gay spring time
That with the sunshine
Seems to thyme
That makes the air
With music thrill
And every dell
With fragrance fill
All speak to me
This truth sublime
That I am God's
And He is mine

Thanks for this blessing most devine
That does the lovely world enshrine
Shed air me always truths bright light
Dear one above Father, good night.
