A Tribute To My Mother

A woman of great courage. A loving, unselfish, and humble person who saw beauty in all the everyday things that surrounded her.

She spent many hours of her life writing poetry. When she was very young, she wrote about her childhood, the place where she was born, and about her mother and father.

Later she wrote about her children and anything funny or sad that happened in her life. She was great fun to be with. Quick witted and a good sense of humor. She wrote many poems that mentioned God as she loved and feared him, and realized he had blessed her with a special gift.

I can remember her sitting by the fire writing poems. She dreamed of the great novel she always wanted to write. One was started, but never finished. Song lyrics that were never set to music except in her mind. So many things she dreamed of that were never penned.

She did not have too many of the luxuries of life so her poetry was her life, aside from family and neighbors. I can see her leaning out a window to recite a new poem to a neighbor. She had the love and respect of all who knew her.

We hope this book of poems will live forever for her posterity.

A truly beautiful spirit who I'm sure God has set aside a special place. There is such a feeling of pride in having her as my mother. I am grateful to have this opportunity to pay this tribute to her. Also in behalf of my dearest departed sister, Nevada Fern, and brother Robert Reed. We all loved her dearly.

I pray dear God that I'm forgiven for any pain I may have caused her in her life on earth. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Her daughter,

Josephine
(My Grandma Jo)
