Forgiveness
Do we forgive each other
Why certainly we do
How could we love our God above
And not forgiveness too
If it wasn't for forgiveness
What would God's children do
For he would not forgive us
Then O, poor me and you
We all need his forgiveness
For over us it sends
A feeling of love for his goodness
That no mortal ties can bend
Could you not forgive a brother
Who had erringly did you wrong
And ask of God our Father
To help you to be strong
To take away revenge for Him
Cast it from our heart
Live to show through kindness
His wound has been forgot
That you may by forgiveness
Cause a soul to wish to live
Not to think of doing injury
But seek to be forgiven.
