The Mightier
The pen is mightier than the sword
Then lay the sword aside
And quiet the pulsing beating heart
Of the steed on which you ride
The sword is mightier than the pen
Then take up your sword and flee
And come not back till you have made
The world a better world to be
For the spirit is mightier than them all
By the sword the spirit cannot fall
It guides the sword and guides the pen
And lives in the deeds and works of men.
Then lay the sword aside
And quiet the pulsing beating heart
Of the steed on which you ride
The sword is mightier than the pen
Then take up your sword and flee
And come not back till you have made
The world a better world to be
For the spirit is mightier than them all
By the sword the spirit cannot fall
It guides the sword and guides the pen
And lives in the deeds and works of men.
