Good and Evil

Did you ever think
Study deep in your mind
Of what goodness means
To the human mind

Compare it with evil
Base evil so low
The miseries it causes
The heartaches and woe

With beautiful goodness
So fair and kind
That to base low evil
Ne'r reaches her mind

No matter what sorrow
Tries goodness to sway
She never asks sin
To help bear it away

But goodness soothes trouble
Sends evil away
As the sun o'er the clouds
Sends it shining bright ray.
