As The Tree Falleth

As the tree falleth so shall it lay
If I die tomorrow and you die today
If you die in goodness and I die in sin
Thus, shall God judge when His judgement begin?

If I die in ignorance knowing no wrong from right
Then shall He judge as to darkness and light
If I shun seeking light to let ignorance shield sin
For what could I call mercy where would mercy begin?

As the tree falleth so shall it lay
The good and the evil, the life and the death
To be resurrected to a life eternal
Are to be resurrected again to meet death

With the tree of evil, we fell through transgression
Shall we let it be bottomless or rise above
Through the good, the atonement from the life eternal
That has shown us redemption thru mercy and love?

With God's righteous judgement would you be resurrected
Again to meet death in a bottomless pit
To which God in his goodness and mercy everlasting
Has extended us love and light to better it?

Do you rejoice in this world's great redemption
In the light of sweet sacrifice have you found love
From moth-eaten death through evils vile corruption
Through innocence beauty eternally blest?

The greed and the graft and all evil unspoken
Does cry out aloud to all as a token
That sweet sacrifice brought, and through charity taught
The love that is greater than all else we've got.
