Obedience

Twelve men were chosen and set apart
As God commanded through Joshua
To bear the Ark of the Covenant of God
And lead the children of Israel away

As soon as their feet did touch the waves
The waters did obey
Obedience to the Laws of God
Can even the water's stay?

Man cannot gain victory and transgress
The Law of God's just command
Victory only followed obedience
Among His chosen band

As God punished ancient Israel for transgression
How shall we escape if we do not obey
God's the same today, tomorrow and forever
We must follow where His Spirit leads the way

Long years was Noah building the Ark
And bidding the people to repent
They laughed to their shame at his humble aim
And the mission on which he was sent

Many of God's workers unaware
To earth on their missions have come
To show the world good was Eternal Life
And ways of the evil to shun

If there was no good with this earth to reap
Woe, woe to again cast down fallen man
Who would again lighten their darkened pit
Where would be its "Star of Bethlehem"
